About Northwest Television

Northwest Television, LLC (NWTV) presently operates stations in Northwest Oregon.

Northwest Television offers a wide variety of programming to our viewers. We also provide advertising and

video production services at reasonable prices for local businesses and organizations.

Northwest Television is locally-owned and committed to enhancing the quality of life in our community.

Northwest Television is not responsible to any large corporation or shareholders.

Decisions are made locally with our community in mind.

Northwest Television is building a regional network of community television stations,

resulting in significant opportunities for local community involvement.

Our vision is to provide local news, sports, entertainment, information and specialty programming

targeted toward filling the void of community involvement common to most stations and networks.

We know communities outside the major cities are ignored by other television stations.

To us, it’s more than just providing entertainment programming. It’s about community.

Northwest Television is proud to support our communities through coverage of local events.

We are committed to serving the communities we reach with local and diverse programming.

History

Ken Lewetag and Michael Mattson had been experienced in various aspects of broadcasting,

and had long realized the need for a local station to serve the Mid Willamette Valley.

In 2000, they filed several applications for new stations in various strategic locations.

KWVT TV first signed on as channel 52 in April of 2005. KWVT quickly demonstrated

the ability to cover live sporting events with a live broadcast of Cascade Surge Soccer.

As part of our commitment to the community, KWVT agreed to become

the new Capital Area local primary station for the Emergency Alert System

2007 bought several changes as Channel 17 went on the air much closer to Salem,

and became KWVT when channel 52 was sold.

In May 2008, a more powerful signal from channel 17 extended coverage

to most of Marion, Polk and Yamhill Counties.

In November 2008 a digital TV signal including a DTV multicast was added.

In April 2009, we secured an affiliation agreement with Retro Television for KSLM TV,

enabling us to provide many well known programs for our viewers.

Programming

KWVT brings you local programs, world sports every evening,

and a variety of entertainment programming all day.

KSLM - Salem’s newest TV station brings you Retro TV,

with shows like Adam 12, The A Team, Emergency,

The Incredible Hulk, Airwolf and many more.

Future

Many changes are being planned for Northwest Television to improve and expand our coverage,

as well as to increase our viewers programming options. In the coming months we will be adding stations

in the Eugene and Bend DMA’s.
